Hannover After Olympiacos Midfielder Enzo Maresca - Report
Italian midfielder Enzo Maresca could be on his way out of Greek powerhouse Olympiacos as Bundesliga outfit Hannover have shown an interest in signing the 30-year-old, according to a report in Sport24.
Hannover only just escaped relegation to the 2. Bundesliga last term and head coach Mirko Slomka is determined to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season in order to make sure the Roten don't end up in the relegation battle again.
They were previously linked with Stuttgart midfielder Elson, but the transfer of the Brazilian playmaker eventually collapsed. As a result, Hannover have now apparently turned their attention to Maresca.
Maresca played at West Bromwich Albion, Juventus, Bologna, Piacenza, Fiorentina and Sevilla before joining Olympiacos in the summer of 2009. The Greek giants are reportedly eager to offload Maresca in order to make space for Milan's Gennaro Gattuso.
Hannover have yet to make an official offer for the Italian midfielder, but negotiations about a transfer fee could be opened in the upcoming days.
